Hypoglycemia Advice?

Ok- so I’ve been feelign crummy for months… I need to eat every 2-3 hours(more when I’m stressed) or I get nervous, shaky, headachy, sweaty… basically all the symptoms of hypoglycemia. I got a glucose moniter and usually when I feel this bad my blood sugar is in the low 50s as in 51, 53, ect.

Sometimes I’m positive that I’m going to pass out but I always manage to chew glucose tabs or chug juice in time. I’ve taken to wearing a bracelet and necklace that say I have hypoglycemia because I’m terrified of what might happen if one day I don’t have food on me when my blood sugar drops…

My doctor gave me a 2 hour oral glucose tolerance test but the results were normal… but I’ve heard that that doesn’t really test for hypoglycemia but Diabetes. How do I go about getting an official diagnosis? I’m basically positive this is the problem because I had blood work to test for any other abnormalities and there was nothing wrong.
What should I do?

The glucose test is how they diagnosis hypoglycemia too. It would monitor how you body reacts to the sugar just the same as a diabetic.

What you need to do is stop eating foods with a high sugar content and start eating foods with with a high glycemic index (http://www.glycemicindex.com). These types of sugars help regulate your body sugars and take longer to digest than regular white sugars. Also start eating more proteins and fiber. You will start feeling better after about a week.
