Is Lactose formed via the condensing reaction of beta-Glucose with Galactose ?

Is this true. I know that Glucose and galactose form Lactose, but is done through the condensing reaction, and/or is it beta Glucose or alpha

Galactose is a monosaccharide. When combined with glucose, through a dehydration reaction, the result is the disaccharide lactose. beta galactose and beta glucose fragments bond through a beta 1-4 glycosidic linkage. Lactose is formed when galactose and glucose bind each other.
