diabetic and children?

i have a son and he s 6 years, he s verry hyperactif, and he s always angry, most of my familly had diabetics problem that what decide to have a glucose meter, and every time a take my 6 yeard old blood and make the test, he s sugar level is 157 in the morning, 136 in the afternoon and sometimes higher at night, should a go and see a specialist for that, i m verry scared but i really dont want my baby to have ti problem, help me please.

If it runs in the family it is definately worth talking to a doctor about. When i was young, my grandma caught my diabetes very early and was put on insulin right away. as a child it is a bummer, but the longer it goes undiagnosed the more damage can be caused. If he is drinking an urinating a lot, that is another sign. Also keep an eye on what types of foods he is eating. You should check his sugar before a meal, and then about two hours after, it will give you a better idea of how suagrs really are.
