Blood glucose is regulated by both the liver and the pancreas in a normal individual. While glucose gets into the bloodstream via the small intestine, the regulating is not done there. Regulation is a complex, multipart process involving the brain and endocrine system… the pancreas and the liver (organs), insulin and glucagon (hormones), glycogen and glucose (fuels), and the various cells in the body.
