glucose serum levels high
Need help interpreting some bloodwork numbers?

I am 28 weeks pregnant.

I’ve been @ my OB twice a week for the past couple of weeks getting bloodwork & the 24 hr urine collection due to high BP & protein in my urine… My bloodwork has come back, mostly great, but some of the levels are off, and I just needed to know what these mean:

Glucose, Serum: 107 (Normal = 65-99)
WBC: 13.5 (Normal = 4-10)
Neutrophils: 80 (Normal = 40-70)
Neutrophils, Absolute: 11 (Normal = 1.8-7.8)

The only thing the doctor has told me was that my bloodwork came back anemic, so they gave me an iron supplement. I just got these results back online and no one has called me about
them, so I figured I’d try to figure it out myself :)

Thank you for your help :)
Everything else was normal. The things I listed were the only abnormal levels.

Glucose tests are often done, especially in your time of pregnancy, to detect gestational diabetes. WBC stands for white blood cells, which are the blood cells related to your immune system, which helps your body defend against infections and whatnot. Neutrophils are just specific types of white blood cells. Or, if you want to avoid all that medical mumbo-jumbo that probably won’t make much sense anyways, maybe just research “anemia.” It sounds like you have iron-deficiency anemia. Check out the website below for more information on anemia.
