Morning glucose level question?

I am a bit baffled.
My glucose result in the mornings is around 6 but yet if I test at other random points in the daytime it drops to say 5.7.
I thought my reading would ALWAYS be lowest in the morning!!!

That’s really not much of a difference. However, many people, especially type 2′s, experience their highest glucose levels in the morning, with exception to post meal readings. Before waking the body will release different hormones that raise cause a rise in glucose levels. Also, if a person has a fat omentum, a little thought about organ that stores the fat that many refer to as “beer gut”, it releases fat cells that causes more insulin resistance.

Also consider that glucose monitors are not perfect and can off as much as 20%. I’ve taken my blood sugar 10 times in a row, one after the other, and had 10 different readings. You seem to be doing a great job controling your diabetes, congrats!
