I failed my Glucose Tolerance test..Now what? Im Scared.?

On Monday I took the glucose tolerance test and I failed.
My Ob called me this morning and I said I have to go into the Hospital for a 3 hour test. The thing that shocked me was I am young, 22 with no history of medical problems. I am also of normal weight. Now I am scared and I am not sure what I should do, I also tested positive for Anemia which I have had all my life.

LOTS of women fail the GTT on the first try. I did, and I’m years older than you and probably substantially heavier. I passed the 3 hour test no problem.

Your anemia can be treated with iron supplements and, possibly, diet modifications. They’ll be most concerned about your blood count when you’re close to delivery. If a situation arises that causes you to bleed a lot, they’ll want your blood count up before the issue, which is why they’ll start treating you now. It should not be anything serious.
